What is OHSAS 18001?
Occupational Health
and Safety Assessment
Series (OHSAS) 18001: 1999
was
developed in response to urgent customer demand for a
recognisable occupational health and safety management system standard
against which their management systems can be assessed and certified.
Similar to Quality and Environmental Standards, required by ISO, it is
anticipated that OSHAS 18001 will be adopted by ISO.
Good Safety Management System
implementation is good defense, less accidents arise and evidence of
on-going checking and revision mechanisms indicative of adherence,
reduces liability.
