We are
a team of health professionals, providing early and effective services
in the assessment, rehabilitation and management of injuries and
disability and the identification of potential harm. Our specialisms
are Occupational Health and Safety, Musculoskeletal and Sports
Injuries, Women's Health and Education.
Our
Goal is to restore the injured person to an optimal functional state,
applying the highest scientific standards and proven evidence-based
treatment. Our Focus is to improve function, competence, self-reliance
and quality of life. Our Aim is to deliver our expertise with
effectiveness and energy.

Career Guidance and Mentoring Programs |

Abbey
Physio provides clinical education and placement for physiotherapy
students of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and clinical
input and research projects for the Biomedical Engineering Department
of the University of Limerick, and the Limerick Institute of
Technology.
We are also involved
in in-house research projects, specifically the rehabilitation of
back-injured workers from which we have developed the 'Start
Back' Rehabilitation programme, which awaits publication

reduce the impact of injury or the potential for harm in the

Facilities |
|
Abbey Physio includes a Physiotherapy Treatment Clinic and a Training
Evaluation Centre, where immediate and expert rehabilitation and
assessment services are available, including
Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)
and
Pre-placement Fitness Screening.
We have facilities in Limerick, Shannon and in the Royal College of
Surgeons, St. Stephens Green, Dublin. Our facility in Shannon is the
base from which our health and safety consultancy services are
provided. |
